On 28th May 2016 a client of the drug-checking service in Pisa submitted a sample for examination, initially thinking it was a LSA trip. There was a pink circle in the centre of the white blotter.
The sample was analysed using RAMAN Spectrometry and the result was: INCONCLUSIVE
The sample was submitted to a colorimetric test by Infoshock. It was analysed with ERLICH, and there was no result/reaction.
The sample (half a blotter) was analysed with UHPLC-MS/MS and the result was: 25B-NBOMe 590µg.
(The entire blotter was supposed to contain 1180 µg of 25B-NBOMe)
Rapid information: 25B-NBOMe is a derivative of the phenethylamine psychedelic 2-CB that mimics the effects of LSD. 25B-NBOMe can be recognised because of its bitter/metallic taste; LSD blotters have no taste. 25B-NBOMe is a very potent psychedelic drug and the trip can last up to 16 hours. 25B-NBOMe is a NEW PSYCHOACTIVE SUBSTANCE: there aren’t enough studies on it and there are not enough records on the use of this substance by man. A 17 years old boy’s death due to the use of 25B-NBOMe was registered in the USA. For these characteristics 25B-NBOMe appears as HIGH-RISK DRUG WITH UNKNOWN AND POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS SIDE EFFECTS.
